THe first 2 doses of the vaccine (Sinovac) did not jurt at all. Some of the people that had it experienced side effects but not me. This third dose is Astrazeneca. I have no idea why it is different. But my arm does hurt and I will have to have a Paracetamol for the pain. I will also have a very small amount of Aspirin, just in case there are blood clots. Meanwhile I will have to drink lots of water. JEEZZZ!!! What is your experience with the vaccine?

My cousin had AstraZeneca in Italy and she was in pain several days. AstraZeneca has not been approved here.

Although it seems that the WHO has not said that a third dose is needed, here they are offering the 3rd dose for elderly and chronic patients only. I belong to that age group and I have been in chemotherapy for a cancer that is now on remission. I decided to accept the 3rd dose and if my arm hurts, so be it. I am not even sure about how much vaccines help. But it is better to be safe than sorry.

@marguicha Jay had recent surgery for blood clots in his lungs. He got his third dose of Moderna last evening, I'm a nervous wreck about this! Moderna CAUSED blood clots, in some people!

You have to get 3 doses? I thought vaccines were either one-dose or two-dose ones.

In our country they are offering a third dose for the elderly and the chronic patients. It seems that the vaccine works less after some time.

We only had two doses of Moderna. The second shot, we both had diarrhea for a day then were fine. Yes, we had a little pain with our arm, not too bad though.

@kobesbuddy I agree. Some technicians should stick to be using axes to prune trees.

@marguicha Yes, Jay said it also depends upon the technician who gives the shot. Some are good, some aren't.

I’ve had two shots of the AstraZeneca with no side effects, not even a sore arm. I believe it depends on who carries out the jabbing that determines whether it hurts or not. Most older people in the UK got the AstraZeneca jabs but they are going to give a 3rd jab from a different supplier from next month. I believe it going to be the Pfizer because now they think it’s better to mix the doses where before you had to have two of the same. I think they are making it up as they go along.

I thought we only need two dose not three dose? Is your whole arm aching or only the site of vaccination?

@marguicha I know Sinovac is Inactivated vaccine. I think Astrazeneca is Viral vector vaccine(not sure for the translations of vaccines). Why mix? Just curious. In China, most are Inactivated vaccine and two shots only.

I had Pfizer, and after the first shot I was ill for a couple of days. After the second shot I had some of the same side effects, but not as bad as the first time. My arm was sore both times, but nothing major, just the normal pain after a vaccination.

No two caccines are the same and no two doses of the same vaccine are going to affect a person in the same way. Everything you put in your body carries risks. All I can do is wish you luck.
