Alan Braid is a Texas doctor who has admitted to performing an abortion for a woman who was still in her 1st trimester but beyond the 6 weeks that the "Heartbeat Law" makes as the limit. He wrote an op-ed that was published yesterday in the Washington Post straight up saying that he did it on September 6. He said he did so because he "had a duty of care to this patient, as I do for all patients, and because she has a fundamental right to receive this care." He is working with the Center for Reproductive Rights which is a group that is already trying to fight the Texas law in federal court. The group said that they stand ready to defend the doctor. That is a good thing because ANYONE can bring a lawsuit against him for performing the procedure. Even if he somehow wins the case the law doesn't allow him to recoup his expenses for legal defense. That is how evil this law is. It just encourages Joe Public to file lawsuits against doctors (and others) suspected of performing and assisting access to termination. I'm sure we will be hearing much more about this doctor and the inevitable lawsuit(s) against him very soon.
A Texas doctor is publicly revealing that he violated a state law that bans abortions after six weeks and says he is inviting legal challenges under the controversial law, which has so far withstood efforts by pro-abortion rights supporters to block it.

The doc has balls. Hopefully all the pain and ridicule he will go through will be drowned out by all the people praising him for doing what was right.
