Is life still so expensive in UK

I remember I was in London long time ago , went to fish and chips place it was so expensive and the portion was so small. I am from USA and when I go to eat out , the portion is big that I can hardly finish half of my plate. Maybe be things has changed in UK and hope to get some feed back before my next visit.

People in most countries believe Americans are spoiled because of the huge portions we expect to be served to us. I wouldn't expect that to change any time...

You. are 100% right at one time people asked for a dog bag because they are too shy to say it is for them self. Now no matter what place you go you see people asking for a box. So at least they have one more meal to consume at home.

@coolsite I've always said the extra food was for me to have another meal from it... I'm kind of surprised they didn't charge me extra for wanting to take it home.

Well, when I was in NY went to this Greek dinner , so we were the two of us ,When I saw the amount of food they were serving I decided to order one meal for both of us. I right away was told there is $2.00 fee for sharing.Cool idea....
