How do you experience the passing of a friend - a pet?

In my case, I treat every animal that is with me as a family member. And I must admit that such break-ups are very painful for me. My last friend died 2 years ago, he was with us for 19 years and I still think about him. About how my youth was intertwined with his whole life. I loved him very much. Even now, when the next friend has appeared, I feel that some small emptiness has remained.

I dont have a pet but my boyfriend does. Just last month he lost his closest dog. I also grieved because the dog became my friend too. It really is painful

I am so sorry for your loss. I think the grief does not leave us. I still remember my first pet, a dog.

Yes, I feel the same way about all the pets I have had over the years, all of them gave me a lot of joy while in my care and I still think of them and remember how they were with me, they will always be missed.

I understand how you feel. I lost a furry pet ( dog) many times because we do have lots pets in the house before .Its very hurtful and sad . But I font have regrets because I have done my part in being a furmom to them. They passed away because of old age and I know that they are also looking out for me up there.
