Prices have gone up

We are out of sour cream, so while I was shopping at the supermarket I decided to look for it. I only buy the Friendship brand. The price has gone up. It's regular price is now over $3. Don't remember the exact amount. It happened to be on sale for $2.99 but that is still expensive, so didn't buy it. Decided to get it at the Russian store instead as it is usually $2.49 there. Turned out it was on sale and for $1.89. That is a much better price. I was gonna get two of them but the date was November 8th, so only got one. I was also going to get half-n-half there because it is much cheaper than in the supermarket but they were completely out. Good thing I still have some left in the fridge. Last time I bought it I grabbed the last one. I wonder when they will get the new shipment in. I am gonna run out of it soon.

Same is the condition in India as well the prices are rising every day, the oil prices are seeming to be a reason for the same which are soaring high.

Even gas prices are going up. But there also seems to be a shortage of it, at least in certain gas stations.

The supermarket I shop at did renovations on the outside and on the inside. I wonder if that also affected the price increase.

@Deepizzaguy I hope we are not going to start running out of toilet paper and soap again.

@lovebuglena That is one of the reasons other than supplies are high in demand and there is not enough of the items for sale for the customer to buy.

Yes they were totally out of half and half here at Walmart the other day. Things are definitely getting pricey.

In my supermarket, there was plenty of the brand of half-n-half I get but I didn’t get it because I know the Russian store has it for much less. Yet they were out. I got it at the Russian store last Monday I think. That means they probably didn’t restock since then as shelf was empty. Even of another brand I don’t buy.

It’s one thing to have a slight increase in price. A whole different story to have a huge increase in price.

No one is certain now how they are going to be able to get the supplies they need.

I hope we are not back to the times of the height of the pandemic when supplies of certain things were limited and prices were very high for them.

If I buy half-n-half or sour cream I can buy more than one if it’s on sale but only if the best-by date is not nearing. If not on sale I don’t buy more than one usually unless the regular price is a good one.
