Good evening from this side of the planet. It's 6:30 PM here as I write this post. It's another gloomy and cloudy day gone and the dark clouds are hovering around. No signs of moon and stars. Our neighborhood state Tamil Nadu is experiencing a bad weather and heavy pouring. And we get the effects of that and it seems that it would continue for few days Well, the geographical location of my city is such that we experience rainfall throughout the year and especially when our neighborhood states get bad weather. Be it Tamilnadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerela, or Orissa, any bad weather there causes little or more effect here. And this year there has been a lot more of natural calamities in these states compared to the last few years. Sunday was lazy and relaxed. And I did spend it doing things that I enjoy. And Artwork is definitely one of them. Today, I did some bit of Mandala that you can see in the picture. It's not done for any order. I just wanted to do it. If it comes out well, I will gift it to my brother for his new house.. I am yet to see his new house as I have not visited him since the pandemic. I always say that art is therapeutic and I find it meditative too. It just calms me. Hope everyone had a good weekend or having a good weekend if Sunday has just started in your side. Few more hours before I call it a day and hit the pillow.. Need to get few things done to go back to work tomorrow. We all feel that inertia to get back to work after a week break. I am already counting my days for Christmas break

Yes, artwork is a very good therapy! It calms the mind and your artwork is being beautifully done! It's Sunday morning where I live(Michigan,,US) and the weather is quite cool here. Our summer was calmer, quite hot in August. Have a nice week!

@Marilynda1225 Any handwork is good enough to keep one engaged and happy. And reading is always an escape from the stress of real world.

It does help. It need not be the same thing for all. Different people find different ways to relieve stress. It can be writing, reading, singing, music or even a walk...I am sure that you know what works for you.

Did you create the pattern yourself? If you didn't, it isn't art but occupational therapy.

Yes, I created the pattern. It Mandala art mentioned in Buddhism and has spiritual significance. It has healing effects too. You are right that it's a therapy. I use art therapy in my work with special needs children and their families. And Mandal with hands really works.

Very good! Finding an activity to focus on does create a stress free feeling. The pure enjoyment of doing it concentrates all your thoughts on the task at hand, thus temporarily relieving one of any outside distractions.

Rightly said. That's what meditation does. That's why I say that art is therapeutic.

Very very nice. I don't know--I am having a week break and I don't know how much inertia I'll have to go back to work. I am thankful for the paycheck, though.

Nice drawing you made there. Sadly, I haven't put any Christmas Decors yet. Maybe we'll wait for my relatives to come.

We have been hearing of the floods in parts of India. Art can certainly be very therapeutic. Because I'm not at all good at it, I find it stressful.

@arunima25 That is a good attitude regarding art but quite hard to accept sometimes when our effects seem pretty awful.

Yes, many states have got unexpectedly high rains and flood this year. Even some parts of our state is flooded. The rain refuses to stop. We just get some respite for few hours and then it starts again. Waterlogging is everywhere Many don't like art because they think they are not good with it. When I take art therapy sessions with adults, many have this inhibition. One has to just take it as self expression and not something that needs to come out perfect. We enjoy doing it without worrying about the final outcome.

Your artwork is great. It takes a good concentration to do it seemingly like meditating.
