I donate my clothing and unwanted items to a local shop that gives all proceeds to battered women and children. This has motivated me to now have the habit that if I am going to shop there, I take whatever items I have put aside for them and donate then. Kind of an I don't buy anything there if I don't donate something. I find this method really works for me. So today I went to look at fabrics and yarns, which they often have. I guess people buy them with good intentions, but then don't use them and ending up donating them. I of course have to look at all the stuff that interests me, too....I found a brand new pair of brown leather Birkenstock shoes, in MY size....if you have ever priced these, they are costly. Brand new, $1.00! Then I found another pair of Minnetonka leather shoes in my size, and they, too, were still in the box, brand new, and of course I grabbed them up, too. I've only seen brand new shoes there one other time, and they were work boots. I feel like a lottery winner. Yay, me!!
