It is not a vowel. Vowels are a,e,i,o, and u.

i can be both like h has fits in both vowels and constants, when we write honest we write An Honest person which means H is a vowel here so.. Y can be vowel sometimes when it sounds like a vowel in few words.

Y is a consonent. there are only 5 vowels (a,e,i,o,u)

It's both. Y is a vowel when it comes at the end of a word such as "fly", "sky", "shy", "why" etc. It's a consonsnat when it comes at a different point in the word.

i will tell you what i know, y is a consonant in the english language, but in the french y is a vowel, dont know anything beyond that!!!
