Today, life can be hectic especially for families wherein both the partners are working. There is always so much to do especially when you have children to take care of. However, it’s of critical importance that you take the time in the preparation of healthy meals for your family. Studies clearly indicate that home-cooked meals promote better health as by doing so, one can monitor the quality of the ingredients used in the preparation. Indeed, one need not always have to prepare time-consuming meals. Simple meals can be easily be created with little time and effort. Choose smaller amounts of the best quality fresh foods available. Try to cook in extra virgin olive oil which has essential Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. Olive oil can also be substituted for butter when baking or cooking. As far as possible, use organic foods which do not contain harmful toxins, to prepare meals for the family. Organic foods are those which are grown naturally without the use of unsafe fertilizers or pesticides. So, consider visiting your local farmer’s market for buying fruits and vegetables. Spice up your food with natural flavorings like garlic, ginger, parsley, basil, cinnamon, and turmeric. Cut down on the use of salt; a high intake of sodium could lead to heart problems. There’s nothing that can stop you and your family from enjoying better health if you revert back to cooking meals at home. Do you cook at home occasionally or regularly?

@JimBo How wonderful to know you " cook from scratch!" But isn't that time-consuming? Wish I could say that for myself. Sorry, I haven't followed the second part of your comment.

I asked why you always come across so patronising and over bearing I think that's pretty straight forward and easy.to understand, isn't it? Tell me, are.your posts all your own work because they read to me as articles you have taken large chunks from and posted.

Most of the time and for the last four years - all of the time. I prefer to know what ingredients make up my meal.
