Do you journal?

I found journaling to be highly beneficial for me. In real life I don't have the desire nor energy (especially since having children) to engage in social activities and I found I enjoy quiet moments on my own and being my own friend. Journaling is not just therapy for me, it helps me gain clarity and solve problems. For instance, by writing regularly about what's happening, I realized that my daughter's autism (information processing and behavior) is highly improved when she eats a lot of meat, but she has a lot of meltdowns if she eats too much fruit. A quick google search shows research studies to support this, with nutrients like l-carnitine being beneficial for those in the spectrum. Other times it's just about helping me cope with ADHD. I have hundreds of random thoughts (and ideas) going through my mind daily, and if I don't unload them somewhere on a regular basis, I go crazy lol (and some ideas vanish, never to be had again, so it's important to write them down). I prefer a digital journal because it's easier to categorize and search through. I used to use Google Keep sometimes on my phone then transfer to Google Docs (and if I was on the laptop already I just used the local built-in text editor), but now I use the (also free) Notion app. Do you journal and what is your favorite way or app to write your thoughts down?

I've been writing in journals for about forty years. Mine are good for remembering what happened when and for events that I would have forgotten about. I hope my kids will keep them after I'm gone.

Wow, so you have a lot of experience in journaling. I've noticed that benefit too now that my memory is not what it used to be. I'm sure your journals must have a wealth of knowledge and experience for your children to learn from. I hope they keep them too.

@healerWitch There's a lot of things the kids said and did when they were young that no one might remember otherwise.

I used to have a diary which I completely forgot about. Then when I visited my mom’s house, she handed it to me. They were renovating the attic where I kept my old stuff. I reread some of the entries in my diary and I was cringing at how cringy I was lolllll

Nice! Lol it fascinates me to see the changes in my personality and thought process in my journals as I grow older. I hope you continue writing in your journal.
