My memory loss made me lose potential clients

People find my blog from searches and they sometimes contact me asking for advice. I give it for free but some of them want something more and willing to pay for it. The idiot that I am, I told them that even though I'm qualified and can make you a training and nutrition plan by the end of the week, I'm not certified in any way and it's best to go to the professionals instead. One of them was insisting a lot, he said "I don't care, I want you, and I'll sign whatever you want, just name your price". So I made a form with a disclaimer on it to agree to, and charged him very little. Last night as I was going through my documents in OneDrive for something else, lo and behold I find a picture with a "Diet and Nutrition Coach" certification to my name. As soon as I saw it, it all came back to me. Where I got it from, how long it took to study and pass, what the course was about, how much I paid. I was appalled. How could I not remember something like this? A university course is not a once off thing. It takes several months to a year to finish. I mean I take online university courses all the time, but they're usually the audit kind from EdX and Coursera, Udemy, Alison etc (free), where I just want the knowledge, I don't care for the certifications. So paying for certification is a rarity for me. Surely something this important should have stuck in my brain, no? I've been driving people away through emails for months! The weirdest part is I usually write everything down on an app that I need to remember (and even reference some things in my journal). This one... No reference of it to be found in Notion. Logging in to the website affirms my flashback, that I have indeed took the course and examination (and even found old email correspondence with the instructor in my archives). But I had to look for it to see it. I feel stupid, and scared now lol. I need to make sure everything is logged and written down before other important things disappear from my mind forever.

Thank you. Yes I have to make sure I don't work through life in haste, and make sure everything is logged somewhere.

Now you have found the certificate and I am glad for you. It will be good to recheck then write down everything so that the same mistake will not happen.

Thank you. Yes I have to check the rest of my documents, archived emails, see what else I've been missing.

Do you know what caused your memory to be so bad? That stinks you turned so many people away when you could have earned from it .

@healerWitch oh my gosh that sounds so terrible. I wonder if menopause causes poor memory like that?

@shaggin well, it doesn't help that I also have ADHD (also gotten much much worse right after hysterectomy), but there have been plenty of research studies confirming memory problems with removal of the uterus.
A new rat study reveals animals who underwent hysterectomies with their ovaries left in tact experienced memory deficits. Researchers believe the uterus may have functions beyond reproduction.

Yes, it started happening after I had my hysterectomy 3 years ago, which put me in surgical menopause. It's truly frustrating. I literally have my phone nagging me all day with all sorts of ridiculous notifications on the simplest things so I don't forget. I also have huge widgets on my homescreen with a bunch of notes. Some mornings I wake up with my mind totally blank and I have to look at my phone to get back to my senses and realise what I'm supposed to be doing: "oh right, exercise with this session, it's a school day for the kids, breakfast, groceries will be delivered at this hour, work on this project, remember to get back to this person, reply to this email, tell hubby about this and that, study this course, deep clean the apartment, cook this". I use 4 different apps for all these notes and reminders and they're overloaded with stuff to do. I'd be lost without them.

Yes, I officially can't survive without logging my entire life somewhere for me to retrieve later on.

Glad you found that and now you can work as a properly certified expert! But I hope the memory situation improves. Losing memory is frightening, it's such a fundamental part of what makes us us!

Thank you. I hope so too. I'm working on it through supplementation, learning stuff, and practicing math etc, but maybe I need a different approach or larger doses of supplements or something.
