He Didn't Want A Hug!!!

Saw an old friend of mine at Costco and was glad to see him. When I used to see him he used to give me hug. This time when I reached for hug he pushed my arms back. And when I tried again he pushed them out of the way. I was just going to give him a light hug. I don't like him that much anyway. He's a handsome guy, but he is not too bright to me. I have a few issues with him. When I see him next time I'll go about my business.

Maybe the reason is these covid times. I would avoid any physical contact these days.

@db20747 Oh! I see. I am not sure what made him behave so. Maybe he was unsettled or something bothering him. I am just making guesses.

Some people just change. He could have his reasons for turning you down.

Yes, I don't think our chemistry is too well, I just tried to give him a hug out of courtesy

the least he could do was to explain in a nice way. it seems rude and hostile to just push away a friend who was wanting to hug you.

@db20747 - Before Covid I let my friends hug me. Right now I want to keep the distance.

Most people no longer hug when they meet for fear of catching covid.

The pandemic has changed many things. Perhaps he did it because he wanted to keep some distance to protect each other. It may be a misunderstanding.

didn't he tell you the reason why he stepped back? I can understand the Covid-19 pandemic has muddied things up but it should not break open communication.

Maybe because of the virus he did not want to hug you.

I wouldn't take this personal Danna, I'll bet it's because of the COVID restrictions. Jay had a woman try to hug him and he refused Nancy's hug. She did this when COVID was running rampant in Tawas.
