Rant Time

Yeah, I am ready for a rant. (Note**If you don't want to read me go on and on then I would find another post to read.) I'm not a happy camper. My kids(daughter and grandson) are doing a really good job of clearing the clutter and I am proud of them both. Each day I give them something new to do, another room or other area. Then what does this young man who was going to live with us do? Roof workers(maintenance from housing and others from elsewhere) here early working on the rooves. And here he comes at 10a. with a bunch of his stuff to leave here until he finds a place. Right in broad daylight! (Maintenance around here goes right back to housing and tells all that they see and hear in the apartments) I was livid. I know he didn't do it on purpose. He's a good kid and I have calmed down considerably from how I was while he was here. We talked and I hope he gets it. Too much of a stressful time right now to put up with this sort of stuff. We just need to get this inspection behind us. Then we can live here again and let it be lived in instead of having everything we own hidden away or they call it clutter. For instance--My grandson quite often has a project he's working on spread out on the kitchen table. (Do you crafties really put all your stuff away each and every night before bed and then get it all out again the next day? I seriously doubt it.) I can see if all that stuff stays on the table for weeks but usually, it's just a few days. Just happened to be out when the inspector came. I don't go downstairs so I have to depend on the two of them policing themselves. More cause for stress, headaches, anxiety, stomach ache, pulling of hair, etc. I am so sick of living like this. Pretty and I have lived in rented houses for the last 25 years. We've never had a house inspection before. Nothing was said about someone inspecting the house when we moved into this one three years ago. (The house we rented for 22 years was owned by a guy who became a friend. He was in and out of our house all the time. I never gave it a thought. He'd stay and visit or have dinner with us all the time.) Two weeks ago we got a notice from the landlord here saying she was coming to inspect the house. WTH? It turned out fine. She stepped in, looked in each room and asked if we had any complaints. We told her the kitchen faucet was leaking, which she wrote down. Then left. I need to text her and ask when someone's coming to fix the faucet but that's all that happened here. I hope everything goes as well for you.

We have Section 8 and it is a housing authority. They have all kinds of rules. Very unlike normal rentals. Thank you. I hope it goes well. Just wish it was all over.

Oh I don't blame you. Sometimes inspectors can be insensitive and to much by-the-book. People don't live in a home, that looks like a model year-round.

And she probably has a nice home and makes good money with housing. It makes me mad that we fail inspections for stuff that has been the very same for years and years and past inspectors haven't said a word.

I would not think clutter on a table would make your apartment look bad.

It's clutter on the table, clothes hanging on the back of the couch, clutter else where. They want it to look unlived in.......that's my take on it.
