Food Porn: 'Habichuelas Guisado'

Food for lunch today is 'Habichuelas Guisado.' I stewed the 'habichuelas' or French beans with a little ground pork with spices in it. It is abundant in my city and we commonly called it 'Baguio' beans. It took the time of cutting the French beans diagonal, mincing the onion, and cloves of garlic. After preparing the ingredients, the cooking is not that challenging. I am feeling like a master chef with my words here. What is your lunch today? Photo is mine.

I used to buy 'lutong ulam' or cooked meals in Aling Iska's 'carinderia' or food stall before. Now, I am learning to cook and serve meals for the family here.

That looks and sounds delicious! We had tacos for lunch today. They were from Home Chef and my hubby didn't like their spices or toppings. LOL.

@Shavkat I enjoyed them but hubby wanted the traditional taco. The toppings included mango, tomato, and sour cream.

I love some burgers with gravy and of course, with staple rice. I am jealous because I craved this combination of food lately.

It is not that complicated. The word 'guisado' is somewhat similar to sauteeing. We also called green beans.

I like French beans, the cooking procedure is almost the same except we don't add pork into it and use the spices accordingly as we dont use ginger in it.

Sometimes we can use shrimps instead of ground pork. Either way, it is still yummy.

This in the photo it is not at all the 'Habichuelas Guisado.', that is the Puerto Rican dish made with rice and beans. Those in the photo are Lima beans.
