We Finally Got Some Rain

Today was supposed to be rain on and off and thunderstorms mixed in there. We went all day long with no rain. The sky was cloudy but they just hung around making the day look like the liquid would fall any minute.
Mid afternoon the sun decided to peek out for an hour or so and then disappeared into the clouds again as the day came to an end.
In checking the online forecast again, I saw that the rain was now pushed back to the 8 pm hour and they had that nailed. It started raining around 8:15 and was quite heavy. It stopped and then restarted again within 30 minutes. Now it is just a slow and steady light rain. Weather.com predicts we will only get about 1/4 of an inch of rain. I think it will be more than that, especially if it rains through the night.

We haven’t had any rain lately. I read today that parts of northern Florida are in drought conditions. We usually don’t see drought conditions for at least another month.

@moffittjc We are getting more tomorrow. I wish I could blow it your way! No sun all weekend except for a peep yesterday that lasted for about 30 min. I may have to run away if this doesn't straighten up soon!

@kareng We've had a week of sunshine and warm temperatures, and it looks like it will continue that way for the foreseeable future. We do need some rain though, so it would be welcome if it ever decides to appear!

I sure do wish we'd get a light rain overnight but it doesn't look like we're going to get anything like that.

The weather has been basically up and down here in NYC. One day it is cold and some snow, the next day it is raining and warm. Also the temperature is nuts. And for February it is way nuts. We had a few 60 or above days and they were warm and beautiful. Then we would have a few freezing days in the 20's. But this February here has been the warmest I have experienced in years. Global warming is real.
