Some do not think they should do anything considered work on what they feel is their sabbath. No one here has to answer to me. Each person had to know what is right for them. Then I think, this is entertainment, not really working, although we might make some money. So here are my thoughts for the day and now I'm off to play. (Please notice the rhyme). The photo here is a painting of a man praying and it was in a neighbor's trash.

The picture looks to be ragged and smashed up. For me I do whatever I care to on any day of the week.

Yes, the owner must not have cared about (she was moving) it and it was outside in the rain waiting for the trash people.

@PatZAnthony That doesn’t seem right to put a painting out in the trash.

The person tossing it must have had it and mistreated it for years!

I know such arguments only from orthodox Jews. When my husband and I visited Israel, we learnt that they don't even press the button in a lift on a Sabbath but climb the stairs. The hotels in which we stayed have paternoster lifts so that they can jump in and out without pressing the button.

We know many who do not work on their Sabbath except to help those in need of food, etc.

That's taking it to extremes, my own concept of this rule. @MALUSE

I want to do that- not do anything especially on a Sunday but I can’t stand a dirty sink or a messy house

The ones I speak of do what must be done but no more.

I do whatever needs to be done, every day of the week. The sabbath of the Lord is within a believer's heart. We are to keep every day holy, yielded up to the Lord. Not just on Saturday or Sunday.

I spent hours preparing dinner. My husband was home so I was able to prepare it easier then weekdays when he is at work.

Weekends are usually the best time to share meals. During the weak everyone is so busy.

My father and his brother weren't even allowed to play on Sundays. Not sure what they did all day. It certainly didn't encourage them towards upholding their religion.

Children need to play. Some we know do not do manual labor unless there is a disaster or neighbor in trouble.
