Sunshine all day with rain tonight. That’s the kind of weather I like because the world smells so fresh in the morning after a good soak. Still not a lot of tourists on the island so Madeleine’s bar is usually quiet with only local people around but that’s not so good for Madeleine. This afternoon however I’ll be scrapping the peeling paint off my cousin’s sorry looking boat, the one he uses to ferry tourists along the coast to Paka Beach. Paka is so beautifully isolated, with no roads going to it, just my cousin’s boat, and that’s why tourists are keen to spend an afternoon there. Hopefully when the tourists return they’ll be persuaded more easily to ride our boat when it’s all spruced up and looking a bit more sea worthy.
