It is 3PM and 35C Inside But

Philippines

It's summer here (which officially started March 16 per Pagasa, our weather bureau). Right now, it's 3pm and the indoor thermometer shows 35C (or 95F). If I step out to the garage and foyer, it's cooler with a hint of breeze now and then. It is sunny, but you can also see gray clouds, hence, the sticky, draining humidity. But I still prefer electric fans and exhaust fans (vents) over air-conditioners. I'm just used to open windows and moving air. I think it will be hard for me to adjust to a four-season country. Our neighbor in the big house next door has their A/C on 24/7 ever since they moved here.

They probably do, but I'm sure they can afford it. There are also inverter-type airconditioners here now which are supposed to be energy-efficient. What time of the day or year do you open your windows?

I could not live in a two seasons country, those I love more are the mid-seasons, I hate hot weather.

It would be nice if it was cooler, but I like seeing the sun every day.

@merrybelle2021 Yes, it is hard to view those photos on the news. I think 85F is a nice temperature; warm but not too hot!!

It rained for several days 2 weeks ago, just a light and steady rain, which was surprising and a welcome relief, but devastating for those areas of the country where it was more intense and catastrophic. I think 30C (or 86F) is the average here.

I'd love to install an air conditioner, too, but our budget can't afford it yet

A lot of people here get A/C when they start earning well, then they get shocked at how big their electric bill got.

It was really hot especially when you posted this. Today, it is quite cooler compared to previous days. I am in the room and I can stand with only the electric fan. I don't go up here if the AC is off. I always turn it on because it is hot.

Not exactly summer here yet. We have been in 80's (F) some days the past week. I have gotten out my summer clothes. We have our unit set on auto so it will switch automatically.
