I am sure this is an old movie but it just came to Netflix here in Israel recently. It is another Tom Hanks movie. If any of you have seen it please do not give the story away so others can check it out and watch it if it interests them. In this movie Tom Hanks plays a prison guard at a Death Row prison. There is a prisoner that comes in that actually did not murder two little girls. It turns out that someone that came in after him murdered them and he kept it to himself and still got electrocuted in the end. He had very special powers. One of the inmates adopted a mouse and one of the guards squashed him and he brought him back to life. I think I will stop here and let you check it out for yourselves and see if you like it.

I have read the book by Stephen King, but I have not watched the movie. Most people told me that it's a good one.

@Hannihar Often the movie is deceiving. I remember the movie from the book "Inferno" by Dan Brown. Those who did not read the book first could not even understood what was going on in the movie. May be I will watch the Green Mile.

@LadyDuck I watched something and I think it was The Devinci Code and did not understand it. Someone explained it to me. so reading the book first is a good idea.

@LadyDuck Did you know that when you read a book and see the movie afterwards that I believe they are not the same. Maybe you want to check out the movie and see if they are both good.

@shaggin It came to Netflix here not too long ago. I was watching I believe something else and when I decided to check it out it was still there so watched it. I did not hear what was said all the time. There was lots of noise outside and turned the TV up but still did not always hear it. I understood what was going on and liked what I saw. It was very moving. I hope you can find it on your Netflix and be able to watch it.

@Marilynda1225 I am a Tom Hanks fan. I love most of his movies. I especially loved him in Turner and Hooch. That dog was really something. I watch things when they come here if not in the middle of something else and we get them much later than you do there. Sometimes I wait and wait and wait for a new season that I forgot what the show was about so start at the beginning. It was a very moving show. I wish some things would have turned out differently. You mentioned it was based on something but did not finish the sentence. I would be interested in knowing what it was based on.

@Hannihar sorry I didn't finish my sentence (duh) it was based on the book by Stephen King by the same name.

@Marilynda1225 That is ok. I just felt like you wanted to say more and then the sentence stopped. Thank you for clearing that up for me now. I cannot remember if you saw the movie or not. If you did see it then were there a lot of things in the book that were in the movie or was the book completely different from the movie?

@porwest I think I read a Stephen King book and not sure I saw a movie by him aside from this one but I am not a fan of his work. I really liked the movie. I did not read the book.

@porwest I am not into his writing so I cannot comment on if I think he is good or not. I have found some authors I like to read over and over again their books. Faye Kellerman I really like and also Daniel Silva. Daniel Silva writes about a character that is from Israel so I can understand his books.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Yes, it was very moving. I can understand why you cannot watch it again. I have another very moving movie that maybe you want to check out if you can or want to. It is called: 12 Mighty Orphans. It is also funny in parts. It was very very special to me. I want to share it with others and hopefully they will feel the same as I do about it.

@rebelann You are right it was very intense. I could not hear what was being said at times and maybe it was because there was noise outside. I did have to keep the window open for air so tried turning it up and it did not help. I got the gist of what was going on. I thought it was very moving.

@JESSY3236 I saw Tom Hanks in a different role here and I liked the acting very much of all of the cast. Did your mother see the movie too and if so, did she like the book and the movie the same or the book or movie better?

@thelme55 Since John saved the wife and the mouse it is too bad he could not save himself too or maybe he felt that he did not protect the girls from Billy that he deserved to die. I have no idea. That is a thought I just had.
