Rome: The most Visited City in The World?

Rome is probably International tourists destination. I never go there simply because it's too expensive for a pensioner like me. I just would like to know what is exactly tourists looking for there? @sjvg1976 I was born in Italy (in Milan) and I lived in Italy until I was 25 years old, then we moved to Monte Carlo.

Rome is a BEAUTIFUL city and the Coliseum is just one of the thing you can see in Rome and surely not the most interesting. As I am Italian I have been in Rome more than once. This is a photo of Rome... there is more than old buildings.

I actually thought it was Paris - Rome is beautiful and I have had the pleasure of visiting Rome on two vacations. I think I could do with a month in Italy as I love the place
