When I left this morning

It was already 78 F when I left, and it is rapidly getting hotter. I spent quite a bit at the store, trying to plan for my daughter and grands to visit next week. Then, of course, I also got fuel. We are down below $4.00 per gallon. I also have discounts from my grocery shopping card. Every penny helps. One thing I got is ground turkey. I like to mix it with ground beef in many things. I got "manager's special" $1.99 per pound. Hubby has been wanting lasagna. I might have to cook it in the middle of the night, it is so hot. So now I am at home, in my air conditioned office, trying to make myself get busy on other things. Most of the food went into the chest freezer.

Hmm, sounds like me, except I am not smart and I bake during the day. I love getting grocery points toward fuel and I use the receipts for another site to get rewards, a double yay!!! I think I should make spaghetti, it has bee4n a long time and we can use up some of the manager special bread we have. I also made a delicious dessert a couple days ago with a pretzel crust, cream cheese and sugar filling, topped with gelatin and strawberries.. Yeah, not what we need since it is just the 2 of us, but it is so good and a cool dish.

I have had that strawberry pretzel dessert at a very nice company wide dinner. One reason I have been saying I should bake at night is that my sleep has been disrupted. So if I am awake, maybe I should cook then.

@GardenGerty I am trying to stay a little on my schedule, though I end up waking up sometime during the night and not able to sleep again for a couple hours.

It is too hot here, I do not use the oven until the temperature remains so hot.

That is why we are eating a lot of salads and cold plates.

Yes, they are. It is really driving up the cost of living for us.

@GardenGerty fortunately I can walk to many essential places, but the car is still far too important to me if I want to keep up doing some of the things I like. I'm slowly changing my habits though to ensure my petrol bill is reduced.

I didn't turn the A/C off last night. It only got down to 78F outside and is heading for 104F again this afternoon. Gas prices here are $3.97/gal for regular now. (I am waiting to refill my tank until medium price gas is below $4, too.)

I was glad to save a little. I hide in an airconditioned room with at least one beverage with me all of the time.

Hubby only wants my lasagna. I could be happy with Stouffer's.

I was tempted to buy all they had at that price, but I did not want to be greedy.

That's good you're home and back in the cool. We'll be off to watch the last two movies shortly. They should both be really good.
