New Take On Oatmeal

These come out very good and are delicious though very different from anything else I have tried. You prepare your oatmeal regular or instant in any proportion. Place the oatmeal in a bowl. Chop up some bacon in pieces along with onions, or leave out the onions if you want. Fry this up in a pan and add to the oatmeal once the bacon is browned but not crisp. Add at least two raw eggs and mix through. Then add grated sharp cheddar cheese and mix again. You should have a pretty thick mass. Wet your hands and take a tablespoonful of the oatmeal mix or larger and form small patties. Roll each in breadcrumbs and fry on a pan until they are golden brown on both sides. These are tasty and can be eaten with fried potatoes or any kind of vegetable. They are particularly good with sautéed cabbage.

These sound really yummy. Any time I try to make balls of anything, they never stay together.

That sounds really good, must try it. And since I know oats are good for us but I'm not that keen on porridge.

For some reason the idea of bacon and oatmeal in the same dish totally puts me off!
