How I know I'm old. Part #2,368.

We had a softball game tonight with our arch rivals, the Coneheads. But I have a bad cold and would rather lie in bed than play softball. When I got the email telling me and my teammates that the Coneheads had forfeited, due to Covid, I was glad. In my youth, I would have wanted to play, no matter what. This evening, I will swim, to try and get some strength back, and then sleep.

@TheHorse I can't say why the pools around Ruby aren't open but the ones where I live aren't open because of Covid restrictions.

@TheHorse They don’t say at the office but I think they aren’t able to find pool chemicals. They don’t know why in the office. They have another crew that manages the pools.

I hope your cold gets better and enjoy your swim, Somewhere I remembered someone telling me that putting the head while swimming underwater helps with a bad cold, Out of curiosity I took a look, and guess what? You are really helping yourself get better by swimming, Here is what it says on the net. However, unlike other exercises, swimming may help alleviate the symptoms of a cold. Moist air (like at the pools) helps to open up your nasal passages, allowing the mucus to drain and helping to improve breathing, per the Mayo Clinic.

I hope you feel better soon, pony. I went to the doctor for the second of the Xolair shots that will, hopefully, help with the allergy problems that I keep having. (It can take up to a year of getting the shots before there are any signs of relief, according to the allergy doctor, though. *sigh*)

@TheHorse That's what I told the doctor. He just nodded and walked out of the room. Thanks.

I hope they do the job. A year is a long time to wait.

Exactly. The air got cool, so I "chilled" and read early Mark Twain.

In my younger days, I would go out and play volleyball regardless of how I feel or how terrible the weather was. And would ride my bike anywhere and everywhere. Now, I only ride once a week or sometimes once every two weeks and I'd rather stay in bed. Yes, I am feeling old.

I hope you'll get over that cold really fast. I hate when I have a cold.

That’s a shame. Part of the fun of playing the Coneheads is consuming mass quantities afterward!

That does not prove that you are old , you're sick.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you something important... I talked with vanny today. She said to tell you her absence from myLot wasn't a signal for you to buy a bottle of good scotch to celebrate her demise... She's just really busy with her court case... Personally, I think she's afraid you'll enjoy yourself too much without her around.
