Received my schedule for the upcoming school year today

Yup. It is that time of year again--schedule time! Interestingly I haven't seen a flurry of discussion and questions about them on FB among my coworkers just yet. that is unusual. In any case the very first thing I did was to check what classroom(s) I was put in. Luckily I am in one classroom all day and it is the same one that I had last year. Then I checked to see what classes I was teaching--and they were the ones that the principal had said he was giving to me. The last thing I did was to examine exactly which class periods I will be teaching. I am doing periods 1, 2, and 3 all back-to-back in a row. That is always a bit of a tough one involving a mad dash to the bathroom during the 4 minute break between periods 2 and 3. You just have to get there quickly and then hope no one else has gotten in there before you. So now the guessing game is when my lunch will be and when/what my duty will be. I'm off 4th, 6th, and 7th and those are all lunch periods. It really won't matter too much if I get an awful lunch like 4th because I can always eat later on my prep or even on my duty if I have to. I have a fridge and a microwave in my room so it is easy to store and heat meals. Ugh. I can't believe there is just 1 month of summer left!

Sigh. I am teaching away right now. I may not make it to Montana this Summer. How old are your students?

@NJChicaa 19? Shouldn't they be Sophomores in College? Heh.

@TheHorse one of the classes I teach is the lowest level of the 3rd year of science that they would need to graduate. It all depends on how many times the students have failed. If they are a "super senior" (5th year senior) then they could be 19 by the end of the school year.

Yes drivers have to do test runs before the school year starts. There also are people training to drive buses who are getting their practice in now.

@NJChicaa I thought that might be why they were on the road.

It's crazy to think that summer break is almost over and kids are going back to school soon. Mine go back on August 30th. Crazy.

You have 3 periods off? Do you usually get your "homework" done during that time? Some kids are going back August 3 which is very early!
