Cancelling russian culture

Some prominent Ukranians said "all russians are morally responsible for the fascist regime he has created", suggesting, together with some european creative minds, to cancel russian culture. On the one hand, i understand that Putin was also brought up with reading the works of Tolstoy and Dostoevsky at school back in the days. The exactly same culture gave the world Tchaikovsky, Gagarin, Plisetskaya, Solzhenitzyn.. On the other hand, i dont understand how cancelling russian composers, arts, literature in Italy, Netherlands, some other countries can bring anything good except influencing these people of culture in a negative way, making them feeling shame that they are russians just because they were born in Russia. Should they (and me) go to the Kremlin wall immediately and protest against the war? Will it bring anything? It never brought anything, it will never bring anything. As one russian historian once said- only brutal severe revolution is effective in Russia I can understand that the Ukranians may have nothing but hate towards any russian thing now. Does it mean that hate must produce hate as well?

No one is teaching tolerance anymore. It's all about protecting feelings. And, this is the result of that.

Erasing a culture is wrong, accusing a population because of the decisions taken by their government is wrong. I fear that hate only produces hate.

I don't think it's possible to erase completely a culture of a country, Germans tried to exterminate the Jews but their culture has flourished. I could go on and on talking about the Romans, Greek, Byzantine etc...etc...whose culture is still very much with us today long after these empires had fallen. In my opinion the most a person can do to a group they hate is shun it but that's all about it.

I have to agree there is a lot of good in Russian culture, and it should not be canceled, Hate is a very negative feeling and I hope there will be a way to get over all this without going to any extremes,

Yeah I also disagree with this. We shouldn’t hate the people and the culture because of acts of a few politicians who most likely don’t represent the majority.

Hate brings nothing. Also, to say that all people are responsible for war is incorrect. War will continue while the common people have no say in it.
