How do you know who is a real friend?

Lately, I have been having a hard time with this specific friend. I just knew her last 2020. She is the girlfriend of my childhood friend. We got close but I have this immense feeling that she has had problems with me lately. Before, I thought that I was just overthinking. Every time we are having an argument she will always tweet something about it and when I ask her about it she will deny it. Then yesterday, I was shocked. My childhood friend—his boyfriend and another friend of ours visited me. And it is the first time they visited me without his girlfriend. He told me that he read our conversations and that he is very sorry. He said that he wants me and his girlfriend to be best friends but he is sorry for his girlfriend because he admitted to me that indeed his girl has problems with me. He told me that everything I do and every time I am sharing things about me irritates his girl. He said that he told his girl to apologize to me and stop being two-faced and immature but she doesn't want to do it. I told my friend that it is fine with me and that all this time I thought I am just having a bad feeling about her. I thank him for being honest with me and apologized because I can't be with them anymore especially with his girl because I don't know anymore how to be with her normally. I was disappointed because I became transparent to her because I thought I found a real friend. It is scary that a lot of us can be natural actors and actresses. Acting like a perfect friend but behind your back, they never liked you.

You do not have to be her friend. You can stay cordial and have fun as a group but you have no obligation to keep her close to you. She sound toxic a little.

That is what I am doing now. She is giving me a lot of negative vibes lately and it is not good for my mental health. That is the reason why I decided to cut personal ties.

@mnglsp good for you! Exactly! Keep those ties cut because you are what’s most important and people like that don’t deserve the privilege of being in your circle.

I agree! Street food bonding is enough or sometimes even without something to eat, as long as you're together, that is enough.

That is true. A true friend will never turn his back on you once you need someone to lean on.

This only means that we can never trust someone. Maybe we can if we already knew the person for so long.

@mnglsp exactly... People can be friends with us and they can be our worst enemies too.

I know what you're feeling. That the best person who you can trust and rely on is yourself too.
