About a year ago, Kindle started a new program for writers and readers called Kindle Vella. Have you tried it? Writers post serialized stories one chapter/episode at a time and schedule the release of each installment. The first three episodes are free to read and the rest are paid for with tokens. The more tokens you purchase at a time, the lower the unit cost. I have posted several stories on Kindle Vella and have enjoyed moderate success. It has proven much more lucrative for me than Wattpad and HubPages put together. Vella has a wide variety of genres to choose from. It is a good way to try out a story without having to invest anything but time.

This does seem a really good idea. I'm recommending Kindle Vella to a friend who has almost completed her novel.

Encourage her to have a few trusted people read it and offer suggestions and corrections. The stories I post have been through at least 4 levels of proofreading and editing.

@DWDavis I've been doing that for her as have others. She checked up about it but Kindle Vella is only open to US writers. It's a great idea.

I don’t have a Kindle. It’s an interesting concept, however!

Oddly enough, thus far, Kindle Vella stories can be read on tablets and phones with the Kindle App but not on Kindle devices themselves. I'm not sure why.

@DWDavis — it could be to keep royalties for authors separated. That’s the first thing that popped into my mind.

Sounds good, I shall have to have a look. I have been tinkering with a bank heist story. I moved on to that after I discovered my locked room murder idea had already been done 20 years ago!

Haven't heard of this Amazon's new Kindle release. It looks beneficial for writers and readers both.

I think it's a good way for indie writers to get their work in front of readers who may become fans.

I recently heard about Kindle Vella this year and have been trying it out. I have a couple of stories on there that I'm working through. It's only been a couple months ago, but I've made quite a bit of money in bonuses, which is really nice.

I'm not used to read in Kindle Vella. I'm an author but not writing serialized story. Before I submit to the publishing, it's already complete book.
