Surprise, surprise!

When I took my sister to her primary care physician, she had some things that were concerning her. As a result, we are doing more tests. I was not going in to see her today as I have company arriving this evening and I need some prep time here. She now refers all appointment calls to me. I got a call yesterday wanting to schedule a gastric emptying test, because she has constant heartburn and cannot eat much at all. None of us could get in contact with her. It turns out that she had accidentally put her phone on "airplane mode". I sent a neighbor/friend of hers to check on her. So I am headed to McPherson today. It is a four hour procedure. Oh, another surprise. . . I was dealing with my sister's phone calls and appointments while Bob was driving us to the infectious disease clinic and while we were waiting to be seen. They do not want him to be off the antibiotics until they do imaging to make sure the infection and abscess has healed up. We told them how hard it is to get scheduled for an MRI. They will accept a CT scan which he can do locally. Meanwhile, since he had trouble with the arm with the PICC line, he can take oral antibiotics. We picked them up last night on our way home. Orders have been sent to Marion to remove the PICC line and the peripheral line they had to put in due to worrying about the PICC. I am going to be gone a lot the next few days. I will try to check in some. I am looking forward to my family visit.
