Hotter Than Hell

Normally when I walk into a hotel room, even on the hottest day, I walk into my room to find icicles hanging from the ceiling from them leaving the air conditioner on super, duper high before I arrive. Of course, that is a bit of an exaggeration. But not by much. But today I walked into an inferno. I mean, the room was as hot as hot can be. Muggy, stuffy, and hot. It took me at least a half an hour to cool the room down. I mean, I am all for lacking the icicles, but come on!

I would’ve thought hotels would keep their rooms cool in hot weather.

I think they are trying to save money. I can only imagine what their energy bills look like.

@RubyHawk Well, my energy bills have doubled. I would imagine theirs has too.

Eww I hate muggy. Did it finally cool though? Hope there was not anything wrong with the air.

Took about a half an hour, but yes. I eventually got the room where I wanted it to be.

Was Dante waiting for you in the room?

Maybe that was who I saw standing in the corner. It all makes sense now.

Glad that the AC worked and you were able to cool down the room.

It is bad enough hotel rooms tend to be a continuous struggle to keep the room temperature comfortable as it is. lol

What why? Any reason they keep the rooms hot

My ONLY guess, and it is probably a logical one, is that the hotels have been hit with significantly higher energy bills and as a result are doing whatever they can to cut costs. At least I understand that from a business perspective, it makes sense.

There needs to be a happy medium but I’d rather it be to cold to start then too hot.

In hotel rooms, happy mediums always seem rather impossible to achieve. lol

Ew! I'd rather be cold than hot so that would have been awful.

Maybe it was more about them saving electricity this time than having the pleasure of freezing your 'nads off.

I am sure that is exactly the reason. My utility bills have doubled and I am sure theirs have as well. I blame Biden. lol

It's odd that the hotel didn't turn on the AC.

I can only assume they are being hit by high energy costs and have decided to make some cuts. That would be one of them I suppose.

I've found it's more normal to have a hot room than a cool one, unfortunately.

In the past usually the hotels would "pre-heat or pre-cool" the rooms for guests. But I understand why not doing that now, to save money on higher utility bills, might be a reason not to.
