Today is a lazy day. It's just my grandson and myself here today. I made a simple breakfast of eggs and toast with mandarin oranges for A and Miss Sassy Rat. Miss Sassy Rat is my daughter-in-law. There will be another discussion soon explaining how that became her new title. I was moving a bit slow after my son and his wife left for work but a text from MSR informing me that she would be coming home for lunch got me motivated. I had her lunch ready when she walked in the door. She seemed really happy. She gets home for the day between 6 and 7 or even later depending on the traffic at the clinic. I had mentioned to her a short while back, a book I had read several times while I was in the third grade. I thought her boy would enjoy it. Two days ago, Amazon delivered the book to the door. I paged through it and could remember the fun that I got from it so long ago. She surprised me by reading the book to A and I just before bedtime. I melted into the pillow as her voice prompted memories from that time in my life. She is now several chapters into the book and is enjoying it as much as I am :) It's grocery shopping tonight and school shopping tomorrow. The pace of their lives is hard to keep up with but I think I'm getting along rather well. Her home has been a breeze to keep up and she thanks me for everything I do. She didn't even get upset when I reorganized her pantry and kitchen cabinets. The Porch. Out back, there is a small porch that looks out to a wooded area with a pond and small creek. I enjoy to sit out there with all the critters. I brought along goodies to feed them and although they weren't around the first couple of days, they came back to say hello. Every day when MSR gets home from work, we sit and talk over tea. She is very smart, kind and a genuinely beautiful person. The more time I spend with her, the more I like her. We hadn't been very close over the past ten years but we are making up for lost time. I love her dearly. My boy got a 3-D printer and it's been fun to print out objects. The technology is above my pay grade but my son has been patient when explaining the capabilities and the processes related to the device. I hope to have more posts over the next week or so. I hope I won't bore everyone with the stories I'll be sharing. Have you ever been excited for something and it turned out better than you could have hoped for? I have :) I hope all is well here at MyLot and that I get a chance to say hello more often So. Coke or Pepsi?

Mountain Dew, please. It sounds like you're enjoying yourself again. And fitting yourself into their home and lives very well. I'm glad you're getting to know your daughter-in-law better and enjoying her company.

Good to see you. Has been a minute since I was in here as well. How nice for you to hear her read your favorite book to your grandson. I got tears when I read how you melted into your pillow. So happy for you. Great to hear you enjoying and savoring the moments in life. You are truly blessed. Take care of yourself. Coke or Pepsi? Water.

I love your post. So glad it's such an enjoyable visit for all of you. What was the book your ordered? The porch overlooking the woods and creek are especially enticing.

That back porch sounds very inviting. My husband has a couple of 3D printers and so far has not been able to understand how to make them work.
