Good morning. It's 10:18am here of Saturday in the Philippines. I've finished my Friday night work shift as a customer service representative of an online shopping site for fashion dress and shoes at 4:01am. After shift, I checked some online activities. Looking for something but can't find something. Then, I took my breakfast. I took a nap about an hour to gain some strength then I've gone to the nearest store to buy about 1 and half kilos of chicken for our next day meals. I only bought with that weight to save some money in preparation for my transportation allowance next month going to work as well as school allowances of Sam and Kyler. Honestly, I'm not feeling right now. I'm in bed. Thinking the remaining money on hand until the next salary. How do you manage your finances? How do you manage your rest day?

Is it interesting being a customer service rep? Do you have to have a lot of patience?

@sallypup Honestly, sometimes I lose patience but manageable. When customers are asking for something that even if I tried to explain that's not part of our process, customers are still obliging me to do it. For example, a customer wanted to cancel his order after placing the order 3 days ago. Our process, you need to cancel your order within an hour.

@sjvg1976 what meant, when I was young, I had a business. But now, as I'm getting older, I can't do it anymore due to finance issues.

@luisga814 - Debt with friends is not a problem, you know that you pay when you can.

@LadyDuck yes I agree with that. However, I'm thinking, what will happen if someday they'll need the money in which I don't have yet?

I manage my finances by having the money put into the bank account to buy items I need. My rest day is spent working on fan fictions.

@luisga814 I know how you feel since my relatives have that same problem buying the basic needs and winding up broke by the end of the first week after payday.

Yes. I do have my bank account also. But the problem is I can't maintain a good balance. Just like last salary, I deposited to my bank amounting Php1,100 ($19.58). However after 4 days I withdraw an amount of Php1,200 ($21.36) because I need to buy some basic needs. Imagine, I withdraw more than the amount I deposited. @Deepizzaguy

I don’t go into debt and if I can’t afford it I don’t buy it I shop for groceries for the lowest prices. I don’t buy anything that I don’t really need.

@RubyHawk same with me. I don't have debt right now except for some friends who used to lend me some money and no due date to pay. I can just pay them whenever I'm ready.

I have some savings in the bank and am holding some stocks, mutual funds and bonds. I also work on a freelance basis. I am grateful that I don't have to worry about not having enough money to get my necessities.

@Beestring actually, I have some mutual funds but due to budget constraint, I forced myself to sell almost 90% of my mutuals funds in order to buy some basic needs for this week.

@Beestring actually, some has lost but some gains but forcing myself to sell my mutual funds in 90% is not acceptable.

@luisga814 Ah, that's a pity. Hope you didn't make any loss selling the mutual funds.

I must say that I am affected with this financial part. But I can still manage it. That is why I work every day and have break time during the daytime.

@Shavkat as much as I've wanted to work extra during my rest days, I can't because I don't have links to find an extra job.

Hope you can manage your finances. I hope mine too. So I have to manage it carefully My salary less: Top 1 - my Tithes (10%) of my gross income Top 2 - my amortization (10,000) huhuhu Top 3 - grocery (I am done yesterday) Top 4 - 10% savings (barely making it) Top 5 - other expenses but only if needed

@LindaOHio Maybe because my kids are getting older and finances for their school activities such as allowances are additional expenses in my end.

We have a pretty strict budget that we adhere to. Thankfully, my family are not big-spenders. Regarding resting, Sunday is our big rest day, and we usually just take it pretty easy and don't work much except for preparing meals.

I earned from a website, but I used it in Netflix, because it has good quality. Now I am thinking to keep something into bank, try not to spend all on one thing.

@Ravi6300 yes. I'm trying to save but there's some uncontrollable reasons that I forced myself to withdraw from the bank.
