The September 11, 2001 attacks were a series of planned suicide attacks carried out by the Al-Qaeda group in the United States. That morning, while America were busy working to different places, 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists ambushed four which is a commercial passenger plane. That time, I was already working as a school librarian and I'm about to sleep (9pm Manila time) when I saw news about the attack of the first tower that my mother was watching. I thought that she's only watching a movie but until found out that's not a movie. It's a real life attack. Fast forward, I've opened a discussion about 2 months ago that I've watched a documentary of the twin towers of real footages from different persons in and outside the buildings while the actual attack was been done. I've seen the bravery of the firefighters, medical staff who responded the first attack. I don't know how it feels while watching that documentary. Although, the leader of the Al-Qaeda which was Osama Bin Laden were already killed in one of his residences but the memories and hatred of the victims and heroes are still there.

I was at work when some of the truck drivers delivering supplies told us what they'd heard on the radio. One of the employees lived next door and he brought his television in so we could group in the break room and watch the news. Our job closed and told us all to go collect our kids from school and go home in case something else happened. I picked Pretty up from school and we went to her mom's house to watch the news. (Her mom and I were already getting divorced but we got along for a few days and all stayed home to watch to see what else happened.)

@DaddyEvil Yes. For safety of your daughter, you've managed to communicate with your ex-wife for that.

@DaddyEvil At least, during that time, you didn't think the issues between you and your wife for the sake of Pretty.

I was watching the news about what happened on TV. It was personally concerning to us because my sister was living and working in Manhattan.

@luisga814 She was a nurse at Mount Sinai hospital which assisted the early responders who suffered from the toxic dust as they rushed in to save the victims.

@josie_ She's one of the heroes that time. Good to know she's safe.

That was surprising for me too as the US is considered to be safer than Asian countries like ours. We used to have lots of terrorist attacks (especially in Kashmir) but we never expected it to happen in America. After the government has changed here terrorist attacks are heard less nowadays.

@luisga814 that's true. We have enemies you know. The US is the strongest country so it has lots of enemies but they have a good security system and the terrorists were able to break it, which was surprising.

@sjvg1976 This is some sort of if you're the powerful one, there's somewhat that you have lots of enemies too.

@JESSY3236 Imagine that majority of us even didn't know that will going to happen. And it happened.

I remember waking up around 2pm on Tuesday afternoon since my late mom and myself had gone bowling in a nighttime league in Kenner Louisiana which is a suburb of New Orleans to turn on the television to find out that our nation had been attacked. I was hoping this was just a nightmare. Sad to say I found out that was real.

That was a horrendous attach not only in America but on the whole world itself. Terrorist letting terror reign in a blight on the face of the earth, because they don't respect anyone except themselves. Most countries have terrorists and they're not welcome to society anymore whatever the cause they champion.

@Jenaisle But for the terrorists point of view, they're heroes.

It was afternoon here. My husband and I were inside the Mall to buy a new Hard Drive for our computer. I was looking at the images on a TV and I thought it was a Bruce Willis movie. When we came home a lot of calls were on our answering machine. Friends and family were telling us to turn on the TV and watch the news.

I was working on emptying out my in-law's house after their passing while watching TV. At first I thought it was a small plane that hit the Tower. Found out later that it was a passenger jet. So tragic.
