Do you know the fruit in the picture? Do you have it too in your place? We call that fruit Rambutan here in the Philippines. This fruit is in season now. We have it because my brother send us our share from the Rambutan tree of our parents. It is related to lychee that is why it is also called as hairy lychee. Hairy red or green outside but soft and smooth inside. When you peel it, you can have the translucent white sweet taste. It has a seed in the middle. Its scientific name is Nephelium Lappaceum. Have a bite guys.

I know lychee. However never heard of this variety. Does it bear in the winter climate or summer only?

We have no winter here in the Philippines. We only have rainy season and dry season which we also called as summer. That fruit Rambutan is in season here from the month of August to October or December in other places here.

In our province in Romblon, Philippines, Rambutan is in season from August to Septembet but i think in other parts of the Philippines, the main harvest season is December to January
