Huricane Julia Destroying My Country

Hurricane Julia has been ravaging Nicaragua since late Saturday afternoon. It has devasted the Caribbean Coast and sent more than 15 inches of rain in the country's interior. I live a bit far from the coast, but the rain and heavy winds have also reached us, falling all night and all day. the Coast guard has been evacuating the most accessible families, but my fear is for those who live in the most remote parts. My prayer and hopes go for them, wishing they won't lose lives, just material damage.

Thanks for your wishes. The worst has passed, but we are without power, I must commute about 12 kilometers to access energy.

Stay safe. Believe it or not, I went through the same with Hurricane Ian not to long ago.

thanks for your wishes. Hurricane Ian was as horrible as they get, hope you did have too much damage and no lives were lost. We are without lights here and are in the cleaning-up process.

@Viastra I hope power can be restored safely and quickly. Some lives were lost during Ian, but no one I know. But, with the amount of flooding it was bound to happen. Thanks for your concerns.

It wasn't even a tropical storm or a hurricane yet when it wreaked havoc on the island of Tobago. I hope no lives have been lost and your country has been able to ride out the storm without too much damage.

I hit Nicaragua full heads on, and we are without light, and the roads are blocked. we have started the cleanup process.
