Is it that too hard to be kind?

I am having a frustrating day today. These past few days I decided to learn and acquire new skills. I have a friend who said he likes to teach me how to edit videos. So I thought that he will be more patient with me because he knows that editing is not really my thing. I can accept constructive criticism, but what I hate about what he is doing is that he is making fun of me. He is laughing and telling me "it is just so simple, why you can't even get that, when I was in your position I got that in a snap" I thought he is just joking, but earlier he is laughing again sarcastically. And he said "you're making me frustrated, can you just stop asking questions and try to learn it yourself" Dude, you volunteered yourself, I didn't even ask you to help me or what, and now you're making me feel so dumb? Geez. Is it too hard to be kind to people who constantly ask questions just because they want to learn?

Some people WANT to help but their personality isn't suited to teaching any subject. I would tell your friend thanks for the help and stop letting him "help" you. Find someone who is more suited to helping you learn what you want to learn.

@mnglsp I understand and would say you're doing your part just fine... Whether it was his intention to make you feel dumb or not, that's still what happened. *shrug*

I thanked him. I am always apologizing for the trouble I have caused him. I get it that he is not a teacher type that has a lot of patience but I just hope he would drop being sarcastic. I am asking questions that he didn't teach. I am taking notes of everything he is saying. I told him about this. He said that it is not his intention to make me feel dumb for being sarcastic.

Well, it's very hard to be patient when we try to teach something and the other seems not to understand. A bit of patience is needed and being sarcastic is wrong.

He apologized already for being sarcastic. He said that he didn't intend to make me feel dumb.

How close are you to each other? I can be sarcastic to my friends but they know it’s my love language
