Halloween again soon

Halloween, Treat or Trick, Events

I enjoyed Halloween when the kids were small. They would usually attend a kid's Halloween parties with all the costumes and trimmings. They also go trick or treat around the neighborhood and end up with a lot of goodies they enjoy for a good week. I always go with them for their safety. Now that I have an empty nest, I can only revel on those Halloween items in store and the decorations and recall those times with the children. In life we go through most phases with our children or sometimes with adult friends and families. It's good to have some festivities like Halloween as it keeps some people and kids busy preparing for it. Do you celebrate Halloween?

@DevMrSamEleazar Ghosts don't really make that sound, though. At least not the ghosts I've seen.

When my daughter was young, I decorated for every holiday and had a lot of fun doing it. Now, I don't decorate for any holiday... *shrug*

@DevMrSamEleazar When Pretty was little, I had a really good paying job, though. We still have a lot of the decorations in boxes in our garage.

I now have an empty nest, but I take turns with the 2 kids in celebrating. This year it will be at the son's flat. So I won;t decorate much at my place. this is for Christmas.

I did when all of my kids were living at home. Now I just pass out treats to the kids.

I moved to a suburb where it's mostly old people. I don't think there will be kids around.

Halloween was never around when we were kids so I never really got into it. I know there are a great many who really look forward to it.

There are parts where it is really trendy. Mostly in the cities and suburbs. I now live in Cooma in a place where there aren't many kids, but kids visiting their grannies.

Halloween is not much celebrated here in the Phil. People prepare and go visit their loved ones in the cemetery during All Saint's day. Although businesses are now trying to promote Halloween for commercial purposes.

Yes, Josie, we didn't celebrate Halloween in Baguio. I was only introduced to this celebration when I migrated in New Zealand and the very popular with the kids. Yes, it's very commercialized. After this, Christmas mood will take over.

Halloween is not a big thing here. A few shops sell Halloween costumes and treats.

Where are you located? For some cultures, it's not popular.

Don't the kids visit the houses for candies anymore? I have never celebrated Halloween so not sure if that is a real thing (kids and candies). I re-read your post and see that you have already answered, silly me LOL

Yes, I do. Although, not as much as I did back in the day. It is my Christmas, New Year, and birthday celebrations rolled in one.

We do not celebrate Halloween here, but I will decorate our table and prepare a special dinner.

Not any celebrating here any more. The neighborhood kids usually go to parties or friend's houses. Not the door to door trick or treating for candy like we used to do.
