In the past when I went to the bank, I saw they had a big bowl of candies and they were exactly the candies I liked. But I felt too embarrassed to take it although it was totally fine as they were served there for the clients. Then in the past when my son was still little, we had a travel to Singapore. When we waited for the flight in the airport, I saw the public candies again. I told my son to get a few for me My son didn't like candies very much but I loved candies It was natural for children to get candies anyway

If chocolates are served, I'll take a few for sure.

Why I haven't seen that here. I won't be shy to get some if it is for free. I think some will not be shy to take a lot

@youless Absolutely, those are miniature chocolate bars, wrapped individually that locally are called "Napolitains", because are usually offered when you order an espresso coffee.

As long as the candies are wrapped and something I like, I might take one, yes. I like candy, too.

I some households in the US I have noticed they keep candies for guests to help themselves. I saw this when I was holidaying there. Talking of free stuff I also have sampled food at Malls - again in the US.

I also like candies. When I was a child I think I was 4 years old I went to a nearby market and saw many candies displayed but for sale. What I did I took some and ate them without paying. I thought they were free My sister arrived and paid the candies. They were peanut candies

You were very sweet when you were a kid I didn't really remember, but in my childhood, my parents tried to give me anything I wanted. I often could have many candies

Since you are doing business with the bank, what's there to be embarrassed about?

We usually put candies in the office table near the visitor's sofa or chair. They are for free.

I wouldn't be embarrassed to take. I remember during a flight and the flight attendants were offering candies. I grabbed a handful and the FA said don't take much, Sir. For customer relation that is very rude for FA to say so. If I were the owner of the airline witnessing an FA's demeanor like that is directly terminated. I was an owner of a restaurant and my first rule is Customer Relation of Public Relation. If you violate it, the next day you lose your job.

You are right. I think it is rude to say so to a customer. Here usually in the flight they give every customer the same portion of snacks so that it will be fine for everybody.
