Why does a woman have to put her throat into the hands of a murderer knowing that he was going to kill her?

The horror news of Delhi woman Shradha getting murdered by her live in partner has shaken the entire country.
I sometimes feel it's strange that how could an educated woman, of mature age get beaten up by her live in partner, who threatened to kill her and cut her into pieces two years ago and did it not take precaution to save her life.
She was employed, earning well, was self- sufficient. Yet why was she tolerating her partner's physical torture? Couldn't she have moved out of the relationship? Though her parents severed their relationship with her she could have moved to a lady's hostel where no men are allowed? But she didn't do that. She knew her live in partner was having other women in his lives and was unfaithful but kept living with with him to materialize this horrific killing- strangulation her to death and then cutting her into 35 pieces.
Do you think the woman was mentally sound to allowed her partner to full fill his gruesome motive?

No I do not think she was mentally sound. I think that this kind of treatment from him, a controlling and dangerous man, had taken the toll gradually on her mental state, thus breaking down her natural defenses and delivering her into the arms of the evil sod. RIP dear lady, like so many other women. I also believe the fear that she had of him, affected her ability to flee. This is complex the affect this has on a womans mind. It is not well understood by many.

I think she wanted him to get punished by the law. She did go to the police and women's commission after being beaten but went back to stay with him only to get killed so that he is arrested and punished which he is now. Hers was a strange mental case.

That was sad and horrifying. If the woman was employed and earning well, she should be mentally okay. She probably didn't take the threat of her partner seriously.

She was confirmed that her life was in danger which she confessed to her friend 10 days before the murder.

I don't think so. She confessed to her friend over the phone 10 days before she was murdered that she feared that he would kill her. Maybe she wanted to send him behind the bar by allowing him to kill her.

She may not have been. She may have had an underlying mental health issue. Or, she could be like many other women in this world. Abused so much that she truly believed that abuse meant love. This is not a mental illness, mind you, but a vicious cycle that gets ignored. It doesn't matter if she was a self-made woman, or if she could've left. She didn't see that, because her partner made her believe her accomplishments meant nothing. Which happens more often than people think. Since no one talks, when something like this happens, you seem surprised. But, it's happening everyday.

She complained to the police and the women's commission and yet kept staying with her partner. I think she couldn't accept the rejection of her partner who kept multiple affairs. She knew if she got killed her partner would get punished which he is now. The man is in the jail.
