Is Anyone Still Doing Freelance Writing?

Hello all!
I've been doing content writing since 2008. Since then I've noticed a lot of changes with the way my fellow writers are getting gigs. Here in the Philippines, it used to be that middlemen were responsible for getting people their work. They contact clients (content writing companies abroad) and outsource the work to us.
Now, I've noticed an uptrend in companies directly hiring content writers. So, my question is, is anyone still making good money in freelance writing right now?

I don't really freelance write, but I'd imagine it depends on the content you produce. If you're a good writer, you should make some serious coin.

I can't add much but I know I have used fiverr as a client before. Good site.

Yes @Faye! I've heard quite a lot of positive feedback about Fiverr. I guess I just need to figure out how I can aggressively market myself there. Cheers!
