Honey-coated pecans from Alee and her parents.

I wish I had a photo of Alee, my guitar and piano student. I have been working with since she was four. She's now six. We started on guitar, but I have shown her piano since she was five. Now she prefers piano, and today we worked only on piano, though she brought her guitar. She and her parents brought me a lovely card and sugar-coated pecans. I told Alee, with her daddy watching, that I would enjoy them with either milk or coffee. I chose not to mention Scotch. She and I worked on some Christmas songs today. And I made her do some half-scales. She is a delight. I will truly miss her if I move back to Santa Barbara.

Hah! I can see that I had already started drinking Scotch when I wrote this. The were/are pecans. But I thought they were walnut when I first saw them.

Nice gesture not to mention Scotch, but I am sure those taste better with Scotch than coffee or milk.

Well, you are lucky to have such people in your life. Btw, I love that picture, it's really peaceful. Enjoy these moments to the fullest, they're not that common, unfortunately. All the best to you!
