23 December - What I'm Thankful for Today

I'm having a lazy day. The weather is beautiful watching it from inside. Right now it's -2 F with a feels-like temp of -26. The winds are clocking at 24 mph. It's currently snowing. So says the weather site. It's hard to tell with the snow blowing around.
I'm thankful for a warm apartment with it as cold and windy as it is outside.
I'm thankful for a lazy day. I watched some television. That's about it for enjoyment.
I'm thankful for the exercise class this morning. There were a few of us this morning. I know a couple of people are out of town for Christmas. Leaving before it got bad out there.
I'm thankful the church Christmas party was canceled until next Tuesday. It should be fun.
I'm thankful I still have food. I need to go shopping and can't until Saturday when the weather turns nice again. Nice as in 11 F. It will still be windy. But if I don't go shopping then, Christmas dinner will be slim at best.
I'm thankful my sister called. We're going to the huge Michaelangelo event at the Convention Center on January 5th. It should be a lot of fun. It's siblings only and spouses. So, five of us. It will be wonderful to get together again. We haven't done so since our parents died a few years ago. Though they were here for my birthday in July. This will be only us.
Okay, that's my day. My only house chore was running the dishwasher. I thought about taking the garbage down, but it can wait. It's not as cold as being outside, but it's still cold in the underground garage. Call me lazy.

I am glad that you have been safe through this storm and are enjoying the pretty snow.
We have been cold all day, and will be again tomorrow. We will slowly warm up beginning Monday. The high winds they predicted all week were as bad, though there were some pretty strong gusts throughout the day. For that I am thankful. And my prayer is for all those who are having it much worse with this weather then we are.

I love the view from inside your apartment. I could just sit for hours gazing at the beautiful trees covered in snow.
I am thankful that I am now on vacation for the next 10 days and will be spending time with my kids at Disney World.

@just4him Yes, we went for 2 days for Christmas Eve and Christmas, and then came home for a day because my daughter had to work, but then we'll be back down at Disney for the rest of the week (through January 2). We're usually there 9-11 days each year, but this year we'll only end up a total of 9 days there for the holiday. Not complaining about it at all, still such a nice time. I'm happy even when I only get to go for a day. Disney is my happy place, my home away from home.

@moffittjc I'm glad you enjoy Disney World. We all need a happy place.
I think my happy place is right here with it all quiet and just my computer and me. I could be wrong, but I'm happiest right here.

I am thankful for the nice weather which was around the teens even the feeling was around in the single digits but thank goodness there was no blackouts due to the winds and the pipes did not burst.

@just4him That is one reason why I am grateful for my blessings since not having my basic needs did not happen this year since it is terrible for anyone to go through.

Your Christmas tree is so pretty.. I’m thankful to have a warm apartment on such a cold day and to have a pantry full of food. I don’t have to go out. I’ve done laundry, vacuumed, polished furniture and cleaned the bathroom so I’m caught up for Christmas. I won’t go out until Christmas Day when I go to my sons for dinner.

You're allowed to have a lazy day.
I'm thankful for the comfortable day, although I surprised my husband by wearing shorts in 62 degree weather. But, I really don't start feeling it until its in the 30's and 40's. So, I'm thankful I'll have long pants to wear out tomorrow. And, that our house stays warm and toasty.

I'm hoping I can be here for more than a minute or two today. So far, my eyes aren't burning just from reading on myLot. The thermometer says it is 6G and the wind chill is -7F right now. Pretty and I but a blanket up over our front door. The wind is blowing at just the right angle to come in around the door.

Thankful all my critters are ok and that I have a warmish house. This wind is trying to make it feel cold in here. That makes me thankful for my heated throw.

I love that beautiful tree and the lovely backdrop of the snow, I hope you stay warm and have a very Merry Christmas, I am thankful that my friends from NYC sent me some Christmas cash so I could order some things for myself from Amazon since I did not have to use my debit card for other items,
