Macaroni

There was a time I was soup crazy. I used to use macaroni in many of the soups I used to prepare - chicken, mushroom and cockle soup. We used to grow mushrooms - the oyster variety - for a few months and mushroom soup used to be a daily affair. I also like cockle soup. You just par boil the cockles remove the flesh and cook them with previously boiled macaroni with sufficient water, add tomato puree and temper it with onion slices. Eating it hot is the bet way. Do you use macaroni in your cuisine? Image credit:https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Macaroni_closeup.jpg

I use many different shapes of pasta, according which sauce I prepare. I like more to make a risotto with mushrooms, with clams it is always spaghetti.

When I was in the US I was introduced to Clam Chowder which I liked every much. A friend knowing I was fond of this brought this to me each time she visited India. Now I am tired of eating it (lol)

@allknowing I have loved clam chowder for years. I keep thinking I will get tired of it, but I don't. In the winter it's the best soup to warm up with!

@allknowing I also like New England Clam Chowder, I make it time by time, but clams are very expensive and I have to go to Italy to buy, they are not available here.

Macaroni and cheese aren't a favorite here. I do use a lot of other types of noodles in our meals, though. And, while I love mushrooms, Pretty says they taste like "dirt". I have no clue what she's talking about. She used to eat deep fried mushrooms with breading on them but won't even eat those anymore.

@allknowing By her early twenties, she wouldn't eat mushrooms anymore. I've never tasted dirt, either.

I love mushrooms! One of my 4 doesn't care for them, so he just picks them out of things. I can't compare mushrooms to dirt, but then again dirt is not on the menu in my home...we haven't tried it to my knowledge!

I use macaroni sometimes and I love soups. Actually, right now I would love to eat some mushroom soup . My wife always asks: 'What should I make for dinner?' And I always reply: 'Mushroom soup!' But she never makes it .

Macaroni is derived from light corn flour, mostly. It is Not good to eat and not good for health. I have seen the photo and at shops. Nobody buys them much.

One does not eat it every day and there are several other foods that may not be good but still are eaten.
