The Flying Cat

My cat Ringo seems to be practicing how to fly. He attempts to jump higher and farther every day. Usually, I work for a long time every day on my PC and so I take short breaks to check out what the cats are up to. By now I pretty much know where they should be. However, today I could not find Ringo. I looked down, around, and up. Now, in my workroom, I have a very tall open cabinet with many shelves that I put my clothes on because I don’t have a chest of drawers. The cabinet is so tall it is over my head and close to the ceiling. Not far from it is a table upon which Ringo usually sleeps if he is not sleeping on the recliner next to the PC. Since I could not find him I decided to go back to the PC. I sat down in my chair, swiveled around a bit, and suddenly saw a movement. Ringo must have finally figured out how to fly. He had landed on top of the cabinet. I then realized that he had mastered the ability to jump from the table to the top of the cabinet. You can see that from there is has a nice view of everything all around.

@RasmaSandra My friends do that, they have a two story house and one of the windows goes directly to the roof. That's how they fly out the window. I was like all you suck except Marley. he is the only one that never flew out the window. Haha, actually they only flew out the window because they scardy cats and was scared of me but Marley was not and Madory but she a big turd so she does not count. That cat was and is Psycho.

@crossbones27 however, I have had cats including my own walking upon my room in previous years, These two have not idea that you could get out on the roof and I would not let them,

For some reason, cats love to be high up and looking down on things all around.

Its in their nature like Bob Cats people always look at like ground or straight ahead somewhere. Do not look down or straight look up in the trees or hills, then maybe you can glimpse a Bobcat, but you better hope you do not because they always see you before you see them.

Cats typically virtical spaces. The higher the better. It was only a matter of time before he figured out how to get up there.

@kaylachan he is also a very smart cat so I know I will find him up there often as it is one of the few spaces that can be accessed with other spots on an angle and with a low ceiling,

If Ringo starts flying around your apartment, that should make for really interesting photos to share here on myLot.

@Fleura I should say so, hopefully, he won't ever try heading out a window. I am on the top floor of this two-story house and have had cats roaming the rooftop but these cats have no idea about that so that is good,

Wow, that's a big jump! I sometimes have a hard time locating my cat, but that's because she's all black. Great ca(t)mouflage in the dark!

Oh no, I better not let Tuffy read this, the last thing I need is for him to start trying to fly like Ringo. Ringo reminds me of a cat that my 2nd room mate had way back in 1974, he was a big kitty.

Isn't he amazing? I mean how agile he is and how he can just jump so high up there and not get hurt.

They can become incredibly skilful jumpers and land on some very narrow shelves. Our little cat was a past master at landing on narrow ledges. She never knocked anything off.
