Hey everyone, how are you all doing? I am back to share my journey for the day. Weigh in - At doctor's office: 213 Blood sugars - 200's fasting. Didn't check the rest of the day because I had carbs. After seeing the doctor we went out to lunch - 5 Guys Burger and Fries. Yes, it is expensive...but we rarely go there. I got a burger with BBQ sauce and my husband and I shared the smallest size of fries. After that we did go to Crumbl cookies and got some cookies. I only had a taste of each, but in a minute I am going to have one cookie to myself. My other meal of the day was ramen. One of my favorite foods lol I will be back on track tomorrow. Now, onto the doctor visit. They always check my A1c right away so the doctor will know it by the time he comes in to talk tome. It went up from 6.5 (I think) to 10.6 I knew that it would be high, just didn't know that high. I will work on that. He also had me start back on the long lasting insulin. This time I raise the dose 2 points every three days until my fasting number is under 150. He also is going to have me take a higher dose of ozempic (as long as I can get it). We'll see how that works over the next 3 months. I am going to try getting back into working out. The doctor ordered a ton of labs, so as soon as the results are posted I will share how those are. Hoping they will be up tomorrow. Usually only takes a day or so.

Last year I had a non-fasting blood sugar of 175 or so. They called me in a panic, but didn't take into the fact that I wasn't fasting and it was about an hour before I was going to have dinner. They ordered me to come in right away and do an A1C. 5.2...

@MommyOfEli2013 I was 68 then, I've since turned 69. I think they were afraid I had been diabetic and not telling people. The difference is that I've been tested since my early 20s because I'm always thirsty.

Well that's strange that they panicked....although 175 is not a low number. But a 5.2 a1c is great

@ElicBxn well that is a sign of it, the thirst...but doesn't always mean diabetes

My grandson loves those burgers. At least you now have a way to get your fasting number down. That's good.

Their burgers are tasty. Especially with BBQ sauce lol. Well, IF it will...I think I still need insulin with each meal. But we'll see.

You better get back on track tomorrow. In and out burgers just opened up here. We have not been there yet to see if their burgers are good or not.

The Five Guys place here is just so, so bad...and so is the one the next town over...I hope yours was good. I haven't been to ours in forever as fast food is not my thing, but everyone I know that has been to ours just says, never again...Hope your cookie was good, I love cookies. I am glad you were able to go to your appointment. I hope the Insulin helps. Glad you had a treat day with your husband. Hopefully the labs will come back with no serious issues, I know that can be hard on the nerves as well.

Sorry to hear that about the Five guys near you. That's a bummer. Ours have always been good. They were really nice too, once they messed up the order...and to make it up they gave us like a $20 giftcard. The cookies were good....although a whole one has like 65 carbs. But probably won't go back for 6 months to a year lol. Cookies are great. Can easily make peanut butter cookies low carb which is nice. The insulin should help with the low carb. But we'll see. And I am concerned about my kidney numbers. Sometimes they are just fine, but usually after having high carbs for a while the numbers come back bad. So we'll see...

@popciclecold And the first week I didn't see any. Hope with adding insulin and when I start intermittent fasting next week and working out I will start seeing it

It was good.... and it would be easier if I started seeing success.
