Gave the cleaning lady a little extra today

She texted me last night to remind me to leave the door unlocked so she could get in this morning while I was at work. I told her I would and told her to get a MegaMillions ticket. She said she truly wished she could but that she had literally spent her last few dollars putting gas in her car. She told me that things were really bad at the moment. I felt terrible for my stupid lottery ticket comment. I told her I had a few extra dollars in cash on hand in addition to the usual $100 she gets. I left that for her as well as a $10 Wawa gift card that someone had given me. I also took a container of homemade meatballs and red sauce and a package of ground beef out of the freezer and moved it to the fridge. I told her to take it and to grab whatever pasta or rice or whatever she wants from the cabinets. Darwin knows I have way too much food here for just 1 person. She just texted me to thank me for my generosity. I told not to worry about it and that I was just sorry that I couldn't do more. The spacing of my paychecks and when they fall in the month throughout the year sometimes makes things a little tight for me. This is one of those times. Luckily I'll be back to sitting pretty on Friday. She, however, will not.
