Green Bay police officer Kendal Herwwld was recently honored by his superiors in the police department recently for his work of rescuing a six year old boy who was walking outside of his parents' home on Saturday evening while the mother was in a bar near her home. When Officer Herwald saw the six year old wandering outside of his parents' home outside in 20 degree weather when the police officer picked up the child and proceeded to take the child to police headquarters when the police officers were able to find the address of the child who did not speak to the police officers since he was in shock of what happened. After the police officers found the address where the child lives with his parents, they went to the home and were shocked that there was a four year girl but the mom of both children was missing since she was spending time in a local bar even though she told the police officers that she had contacted a babysitter. The police found out that the mom had been telling lies. The method of finding the mom of the boy was found due to a database that has records of children who are vulnerable and not able to speak. The police found out that the babysitter was not contacted by the mom at all. The mom who did leave her children at home without adult supervision will be facing charges by the police for child abandonment are pending at this time,

That mother deserves to go to jail. Anything could have happened to those poor children home alone. What a worthless mother.

I know what you mean since only a sick human being does not take care of her children.

I'm glad to hear the mother will be charged. Many years ago, I had some neighbors who were not good people. It was a man, his girlfriend and their kid, then the girl friend's sister and her two, slightly older kids. I saw them sitting outside in the front yard. They were kind of letting their toddler wander around and didn't seem to be paying attention to him. I'm not a kid fan, but I'm also not going to let that go by. I went outside and sat in my front yard. Sure enough, the toddler wandered out into the street. I jumped up and ran to him, just as a car turned the corner. The lady in the car stopped and I grabbed the kid. I barely got him to the curb when the mother grabbed him away from me. It was at that point I called Protective Services.

@Deepizzaguy absolutely! In fact, when CPS broke up that household they abandoned their dogs. My across the street neighbor, not the ones I have now, told me she had been feeding them. I got them into my backyard and found a rescue to take them.

Kids should be taken care of their parents. Not think of them as getting in the way of the mom not being able to enjoy her desires.

What kind of mother is she? She doesn't deserve to be a mother. Kids are so young to be left unattended. Kids deserve justice.

@Deepizzaguy I pity the kids what if they're hungry or suddenly meet an accident? What a bad mother.

@cacay1 I am in agreement with you that the children would have been in deep trouble being hungry and thirsty is not an act of a mom with a loving heart.

You are right since no one who is in charge of being in charge if children of that age is not fir to be with those children.

Someone who leaves their children unattended is not a good mother at all. Perhaps they will take the children away. They'd be safer that way although it's an awful thing to have to do.

That is what is likely to happen that the children will likely be taken away from the mom and sent to live other relatives.

That mother needs to serve time in jail and those children taken away from her. Children that small should never be left alone.

I am in agreement with that a child of the age of the two children needed an adult supervisor inside of the home.

Sounds like both children probably live a sad life. Shame on the mother. Glad the police intervened.

Often the child winds up with another relative, like Grandma.
