Have you realized that most people accept everything as truth, if it comes from the TV? !! Have you ever think about that the TV shows ONLY A VERY VERY SMALL PART OF THE REAL TRUTH?

i agree on that. there are actually a lot of communication theories on this subject. i think the best theory to apply here is the "hypodermic needle theory". according to this, the audience wholly accepts whatever they see in media as the truth when in fact it is just a small piece of reality. take for instance the incidents of terrorism in the Philippines (where i'm from). when a foreigner sees the news reports about the terrorists in the philippines he/she would immediately think that the Philippines is totally an unsafe plcae to live in. but the truth is those terror incidents are only present in certain areas in the far south of the country which very very far from Manila, the capital city (and where i live).

I heard of course the terrorism in the Philippines, and I felt exactly what you say. Why can not we hear in the news that it is not on the all islands. I was sure that it was only a piece of the reality. But not everybody, who hear and see the news begin to be thinking about it !!!

Do you mean TV news, or all TV? I'm sure there are some people who probably think that Britney Spears is the president of the U.S. because she's on TV all the time.

People tend to accept what they see on television as true. If something is presented as true but it isn't then the people involved are opened up for a lawsuit. I think its more common to see things presented one sided or leaving some of the pertinent facts out.

Yes, this is very true. I know a lot of people who believe pretty much what's said on the news. I am sure the "TRUTH" is much different than what we hear.

hello friend, yes i know alotof people believe everything on tv is true, but the fact it is, it is not all true. " like they say, " dont believe everything your hear, and dont believe everything you see:" infact, alot of news people make up story so they have a story to deliever on news time, and that is sad

Yes, the news shows only from one view the facts. Also the media can make an elephant from an ant.

Tv is more than 60% publicity and 30% entertaiment. Only 10% is truth. My opinion
