Hyejeong Shin, 29, in New Brunswick, New Jersey was charged on January 24th with using false documents to enroll in high school. She actually attended Brunswick High School for four days before the scheme was found out. She is charged with using a false birth certificate. This is a third-degree charge which has a maximum jail sentence of five years and a fine of $15,000. Similar third-degree charges include burglary, heroin possession, and possession of an illegal handgun. She reportedly had gotten the phone number of several students who helped her to navigate the school. She is banned from having contact with any students again or entering school grounds. The district has close to 10,000 students and officials say they are going to review their present enrollment process to avoid similar incidents in the future. My thought on this is that if she is in need of education she could have gone to night school, taken an online course, or done many other things instead of trying to enter high school under false pretenses.

Maybe she was not looking for an education but rather for contact with minors.

What was the scheme? Was she too old for high school?

I thin 29 is a little old for high school.

She should have went to night school with other adults to get her education.

I totally agree. The reason why she didn't is what I am curious about.

I wonder what her real reason for doing this was?
