The Latest Fashion Trend ?

The latest fashion trend?

I found this pic on the net by chance when I was looking for something. I don't remember in which category it is shown. What I do remember, though, is that this garment is not a suggestion for a costume for the oncoming carnival season. I was looking for a name and a description of the thingy but didn't find any. What is it supposed to be? Trousers? A skirt? It's obviously a combination of both and could be called 'trirt' or 'skousers'. Directions for use would also be helpful. How does one walk in this garment - to say nothing about run in case of need if someone is after you? The waistband round the knees is rather tight which means that the wearer can only make short steps and scurry or skuttle. (I tried to find the translation for the German term that came to my mind and got these two English verbs. I hope they make sense.) Whatever. Considering that since Eve's fig leaf which she used to cover her nakedness in Paradise humankind has occupied itself with fashion and that whatever designers show us as the latest trend is always only "old wine in new skins" (Bible, Matthew 9, 14-17, et al) this garment is certainly original or rather kind of as it doesn't show anything completely new but only shows something we already know in a new way. The good thing for fashionistas is that this new trend is not expensive. If you're lucky, it even costs you nothing. You may just go to your granny and ask her if you may wear her 'passion killers' - this is what Germans call knickers with long legs -upside down and not hidden under a skirt or trousers. I'm quite proud of this post. Not everybody is capable of combining a topic on the latest cry in fashion with a quotation from the Bible.

I loved your post In Spanish there is underwear called "passion killers" (mata pasiones). Is it a real garment, I wonder?

Thank you for your friendly words! - I can't answer your question. I found the photo on the net and felt that I had to write a post on it. :-)

I loved your post. As you know, I write about strange fashion fads/trends. This one looks uncomfortable to say the least. It looks like a pair of shorts worn upside down. I think it would increase the number of falls!

Thank you for your friendly words! This garment would not only increase the number of falls but also the number of missed trains, buses or trams as you can't run fast in it. You can only make short steps.

The site that sells those "things" call them "riginal Faux Translucent Fleece Tights™" If you look at the site, this is the "upper" part of the women's tight. I think that people would be interesting to see how those things work

Passion-killers! Yes that's what we call those too It would be very easy to achieve this look, just borrow some shorts from your child or (for teenagers) from your little sister, then wear them upside down.

We know it is a fashion trend if we see it worn a lot - especially by social media influencers. Maybe it is simply one of those crazy designs one sees on the catwalk. I haven't seen anyone dressed like that.

Nor have I. But I live in a small town. Maybe it can be seen in certain clubs in big cities where trendy young people live.

I would not wear that for one thing it looks stupid. I do not follow fashion and never have. I just wear what I like.

Maybe it is something that people will wear to keep their knees warm. It looks like an upside down pair of shorts, perhaps the model has it on the wrong way.
