Elusive bird...

I was walking by the creek behind the apartment complex when I caught sight of this bird (heron? crane? egret?) down in the creek. I tried to get pictures, but of course the critter saw me, I'm pretty sure, and started walking away. Plus, there are all these "weeds" along the edge of the creek, so I got what I got picture-wise. I got three photos of it anyway, walking bird, weeds and all...

We usually see cattle egrets here every December. They immigrate from a nearby countries and when December is gone they're also gone back to their place of origin.
